  • Perforated basket holes: 1 to 12 mm
  • Finer filter baskets: 500 to 1200 microns

APPLICATIONS

Simplex strainers offer a simple way to filter impurities in cooling and manufacturing processes.
The simplex models described here are designed for applications where temporary interruption of the production process can be allowed for basket cleaning.
Where continuous, uninterrupted flow is required, it is best to opt for, for example

duplex strainers

or self-cleaning filters, which are also offered at Filtermat.

All filters are individually pressure tested.

FLOW CHART FOR SINGLE BASKET FILTERS

flow chart voor single korffilter

The graph is for clean water (1cSt) flowing through a filter with an element with holes coarser than 1 millimeter.
For fluids with other viscosities or other filter finenesses, you can multiply the data from the graph by the factor in the table below to calculate the actual pressure drop.

FACTORS TO CONSIDER WHEN SELECTING THE BASKET FILTER

  • Fluid type (refer to our compatibility tables)
  • Flow rates
  • Viscosity
  • Temperature – operation and design
  • Pressure – operation and design
  • Required filtration fineness
  • Connection type i.e. flange PN16, ASA150 or screwed BSP, NPT
  • Any special requirements, e.g. heating jacket, magnets, mounting brackets, dp indicator/switch, etc., may be required.

CHOOSE STRAINER TYPE

  • If fluid flow can be interrupted for basket cleaning, use a Simplex strainer.
  • If the flow must be continuous even when the basket needs cleaning, use a duplex strainer or a filter with manual or automated self-cleaning or place a by-pass over the filter.
  • If the filter basket must be cleaned without manual operator intervention, use an automated self-cleaning basket filter.
