The self-cleaning “Europa” filters stop all undesirable substances floating in the water, such as sand, lime and colloidal substances larger than 60 microns (standard filtration). The flow of water through the filter cartridge pushes suspended particles to the filter mesh, where they are stopped.

Over time, and depending on the impurity of the water, the filter elements become clogged. To restore their efficiency, the pattern must be washed vigorously. Opening the valve below the filter creates a vacuum in the beaker that pushes the cartridge down and simultaneously reverses the flow of water. The particles stopped by the mesh are thus disposed of.
Closing the valve restores the pressure in the beaker, returning (thanks to the spring at the bottom) the cartridge to its original position of use. Repeating the operation for a few seconds restores the normal filter function.

It is advisable to wash the filter again when the pressure gauge above the filter indicates a gradual loss of pressure caused by the clogged cartridge. These filter cups are made of Trogamid-T, one of the most resistant plastics to stress, aging and temperature changes. Their stability is proven by breaking tests (55 bar for 1/2″ – 3/4″ – 1″ – 1 1/4″, 40 bar for 1 1/2″ – 2″).
For cleaning the bowl, we recommend using only water, as alcohol and acids can damage the structure.
